Privacy Policy

Austbrokers RWA Pty Ltd is covered by the Federal Privacy Act and its National Privacy Principles (NPP’s), which set out standards for the collection, use, disclosure and handling of personal information.

Personal information is essentially information or an opinion about a living individual whose identity is apparent or can reasonably be ascertained from the information or opinion (e.g. a name and address).

The Privacy Act 1988 and our Privacy Policy applies to any personal information we collect, use or disclose after 21 December 2001.We collect personal information to be able to provide our services as an Insurance Intermediary.

The information we collect is necessary for us to transact services such as the negotiation of quotations, the placement of new insurances and the negotiation of renewals. It also helps us to assist clients at the time of a claim.

The information we collect can and or may be passed on to third parties such as insurers, other intermediaries, loss adjusters and or persons in the legal profession.

At times we may have to obtain sensitive information about a person’s health, driving record and criminal convictions.

We do not use or disclose personal information for any purpose that is unrelated to our services and that our clients do not reasonably expect (except with their express consent).

We have a duty to maintain the confidentiality of our client’s affairs, including personal information. Our duty of confidentiality applies except where disclosure of personal information is with their consent or compelled by law.

Our clients have the right to access their personal information (contained in our files) and to change it at any time.

If you do not consent to provide us with the information that we need to provide our services and or you do not consent to us retaining and using your personal information you must inform us as soon as possible.
